A Message from President Richard C. Benson and Provost Inga H. Musselman
The University of Texas at Dallas - Office of the President
April 21, 2021

Members of the UT Dallas community:

With the close of the spring semester drawing near, it’s a good time to remind everyone of our plans for the fall semester.

For fall 2021, UT Dallas will return to pre-pandemic operations and scheduling, with most courses taught in-person and with full-capacity classrooms. The fall 2021 course schedule, which can be found on CourseBook, shows the planned teaching modality for each class. The three modalities are:
  • Traditional, taught entirely in person;
  • Online, taught asynchronously online; and
  • Blended/Hybrid, taught in a mixture of the traditional and online approaches.
In addition to classes, we plan to resume a nearly full array of sporting events, concerts, lectures, celebrations and other group activities.

We have great confidence in returning to campus due to the tremendous work of our students, faculty and staff in staying Comets United against COVID-19. These efforts, including our partnership with UT Southwestern Medical Center to host a vaccination site on campus, allow us to project what the fall 2021 semester will likely herald: the return of our community to our vibrant and beautiful campus.

We know, however, that COVID-19 has not disappeared, and we will continue to closely monitor the status of the pandemic in the North Texas region. Should circumstances change or worsen, we will provide our campus community with updates as needed and will not hesitate to take whatever actions are necessary to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff.

To support our return to campus, please continue to do all you can to protect yourself and others. Wear a mask; wash your hands; continue to practice social distancing; and, most importantly, get a COVID-19 vaccine. We’re almost to the finish line. We must stay Comets United as we look forward to fall.
